I am terrified because all of a sudden I must make decisions about my future that will determine my fate, and all I know are the absurd unfounded thoughts I had for the last two years. My confidence in my ideas was utterly bluffed.
The neglect of philosophy is the neglect of understanding--therefore, the arrogance of those who think themselves above philosophy is paid back by the state of utter confusion that they walk the world in. However, they not fools who neglect philosophy and they sense the danger in it. An example of this danger is the Aristotelian distinction between "essence" and "existence", that would have modern physicists laughing. Philosophy must be a science--it must be based on experience, logic, and art. And to do so, it must have purpose.
